Christmas Plans
I was just thinking of all of the traditional things we do for Christmas Eve and Day, and I was wondering if anyone wishes that we could change up a little bit. Does anyone have an idea of something they want to change or do differently?
Look Out Highway
Well, get ready. Tomorrow little Jared is going for his physical and eye exam in order to get his driver’s permit. So next weekend, he quite possibly could be Mia’s ride around town. Joel, hide the keys to that new Jeep. Here’s my memories of teaching you guys to drive:
Aaron – ignored stop signs and red lights, apparently hasn’t changed much.
Mia – took the words “we’re going to turn right” to heart and instantly made a turn on 2 wheels. Had a tremendously close call.
Corey – I don’t remember having much driving time with him because he already knew everything and I think he got his license without even practicing. A natural!!
Gage – best overall learner; paid attention to everything and was calm the whole time. Still the safest driver as far as I know. That’s the Irish in him!
My prediction for Jared’s time – I’ll have to man his cell phone while he drives which means I’ll never see that telephone pole coming.
Words of Wisdom
So I’m trying on a new sweater I bought and I ask Jared the usual – “Does this sweater make me look fat?” Jared replies, “Well, it’s not so much the sweater that makes you look fat, it’s pretty much the fat that makes you look fat.” Okay, so I knew that anyway. When I was checking out the sweater, sadly I received the special Tuesday night senior citizens discount for people over 55. Tonight I’m fat and happy, in a sad sort of way.
You Guys Ready?!
Bags are packed, sheets and towels are bagged up, road snacks are ready to go. The first wave of beach travelers will be watching the Steelers, taking a nap, and hitting the road. Everyone – have a safe trip, take your time and be aware. We should arrive at Wrightsville around 4:00 p.m if things go well. Call if you need anything!!
What’s going on?!
What’s going on with everybody? It’s been almost 2 weeks since we were all together (ah, heaven) and I haven’t talked to you guys much. Please let me know how you’re doin!
Big Weekend Coming
Well, since days go by in a flash, here we are near the 4th of July already. I’m so excited to see everybody together!! I’m hoping everyone makes it in, and I’m guessing Friday’s going to be everyone’s arrival day. Can you guys give me an idea of about how many people you’re planning on asking to come over on the 4th? I need to work on chairs, tables, food and stuff, and it can’t be done in one day. So give me a rough count if you can. By the way, pray for no rain – we don’t have our garage to use this year.
No Phone Time
I can see why everyone texts now. I feel I never have enough time to call someone on the phone to see how they are. Ex: Corey, Gage, Mia, Aaron. I think I’ll get a phone with a keyboard and give it a shot. Random texts might work for me. Gage leaves for his adventure in 2 days – GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL GAGE. We hear that Corey has a full beard and fro over there in Mennonite land (hmm…) Aaron is far away and sounds happy but frustrated – his favorite combination. Those are my last contacts. Feel free to embellish.
Oh, for those who didn’t hear – Uncle Bob Biordi died on Saturday; his funeral was today. If anyone feels like sending a sympathy card, Aunt Alice’s address is 412 Duquesne St, NC 16101.
Where’s Corey?
Has anyone seen a Corey sighting on line? His computer must be down – I can’t believe he hasn’t been hanging on the site! That does it; everybody call, text, or whatever him. We have to let him know that he can’t ignore us, not even if it’s because he has a life and we don’t.
Gorgeous Happy Saturday
It’s such a great day, with beautiful weather, half the fam here at home, and lots of interesting stuff to do. I’m feeling pretty happy today! Corey and Kylee are in NC for the weekend. Have you all seen Corey sporting long hair and a beard? Pretty cool. How about Dad with no facial hair and pretty short (ahem) hair? I’m still working on getting used to that. I hear that Aaron the rug gypsy is due to breeze home some time this week. Long time no see. Gage, Jared, and Kayli are doing their own things outside, and there’s lasagna in the oven for dinner. A day like today makes me grateful for all of life’s blessings, and I have many. How about you guys? What do you feel most blessed about?
