Just want to let you guys know that Uncle Johnny got admitted to the hospital this morning. He’s been feeling sick with dizziness and being shaky. He thought he had the flu since he threw up too. He asked Dad to take him to the docs this morning since he was having trouble breathing, and they sent him right to the hospital. I’ll keep you updated as we hear. We’re thinking maybe pneumonia, but we’ll see.

Since we had the idea of mixing up our vacation this year with a little beach and a little sightseeing or whatever, Dad came up with another idea. He thought a trip to Chicago would be fun with lots of stuff to do, and we could possibly get a place by the lake to visit the beaches too. There are a few apartment type places in Lincoln Park which look good, but Gage can help us out on location.
I’m working on the Asheville/Myrtle Beach one, but I could use some help. It’s hard to find a place for 3-4 days at the beach. Also what about travel time? It’ll take up a lot of the week – getting there, going to beach, and then traveling home.
Okay. I’m done. For now.
Cyndi’s dad passed away today. He had been dealing with cancer for quite a while. If anyone’ interested in sending a card, her address is 407 Garfield Avenue. I don’t know – does your generation just send a text???

Anyone getting excited for vacation? Thought I’d list some things I got to bring along just in case you wanted to know. I’m trying to save having to go to the grocery store and buy everything we need. Towels and bedsheets are included at this place, but it wouldn’t hurt to bring some extra towels. Bring what you need for showering and stuff, too. Here’s what I got so far.
Coffee, Tea bags for iced tea, case of water, peanut butter, jelly, ketchup, mustard, laundry detergent, softener, bug spray, toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins. And 2 pans of lasagna for dinner some night. Not much, I know, but I don’t know how much space we’ll have in the Rav. I hope to bring stuff for Saturday night so we can just settle in as everyone arrives – burgers and hot dogs maybe. Remember we can’t get in until 4:00 and we’re shooting to arrive as close to that as possible to open up. Oh-if you have water shoes bring them because I read somewhere that the rafting places require them. Just in case. If anyone has binoculars that would be cool too. Can anyone think of anything that would be helpful to know?
In case you didn’t know, this Wednesday I’m making my first solo grandma visit to see Felix!! I have reached the point where I really can’t worry about Jimmy’s feelings, since his travel time is limited to about 4 months per year (and winter at that). So I’m looking forward to spending a few days hugging the heck out of that little sweetie and maybe out of Mia too! And if Jim doesn’t get too put out about it all, look out – I’ll soon be visiting Ephrata and Chicago!!!
So we hear about Chicago getting 2 feet of snow with crazy wild winds – let’s hope you stay warm, Gage. How about some pics??

We were thinking about switching up for this year’s vacation, but Dad now says he wants to go to the ocean again. Maybe not a bad idea to keep it easy for Felix another year. Give me your opinion – also if you will be able to come (August 13 – 20). There are lots of great places available now and I want to get one asap. What are your thoughts??
