So I am starting a business again involving silkscreening. Haha, I know. I go through this phase so often, I might as well finally do it. I am just going to list some things on etsy.com (it is like ebay for handmade crafty stuff). I have this idea for baby crib sheets that I think will sell pretty well- mainly because baby stuff always sells. People love to spend money on the little buggers. Anyway, I need some help coming up with ideas. The product is going to be a plain crib sheet with a think bubble on it (above where the baby’s head will be laying). I am trying to come up with some sayings to put in it. I might make some with a talk bubble too, but not sure.
Joel suggests a picture of boobs- why do guys think breastfeeding jokes are so hilarious?
I was think more along the lines of “Tonight, I think I will try to wake up every hour” or something less offensive.
Plus, a question mainly for those brothers of you who have seen everything there is to see on the internet. I will obviously need to buy sheets in bulk, but don’t really know where to start there. Or, has anyone seen this idea already in existence?

hospital supply would be the way to go to buy bulk, but i’d look for a way to outsource everything except the designs cafepress/zazzle style.
like anything else, you can make more of the money if you do more of the legwork. you might want to look into buying bulk raw textiles and have it cut/sewed and then shipped to you
i know this is out of the realm, but what if you made the thought bubble (sweet idea) and then had some sort of way that they can customize the sayings like with velcro and magnet letters?
yeah who knows. joel said hire someone. i dont really want to invest that much of my life. but i can get sheets for about $8, probably sell for $25, so i would at least make money to pay for all the screenprinting supplies i have ever dreamed of. well maybe not, but most 😉
gage: good idea but choke hazrd. i would take custom orders on etsy. but i need to come up with a stencil system so i dont need to make a ton of screens.
un related but check out this small letterpress machine, im seriously considering

you are going to get this concept patented or copyrighted or whatever, right? and you realize this idea could make you millions, right? and you realize that anyone who could have stumbled across gmack could already have stolen it, right?
gage: $150? you’re lucky I didn’t already buy it. Geez. What are you waiting for? It is awesome.
aaron: no. i dont really care that much. I figure if I want to go real crazy I can sell about 2000. I can get linked on some craft blogs, etc. But I don’t really know if I want to devote the time to that. I have a job you know? And I make pretty good money at it. And now I have a babe, and less time.
i just think its a really great idea
yeah but what if you made a buncha money and ended up just doing craft stuff for money instead of working
you never know
Khara was telling me about an anesthesiologist who started making some really cool scrubs and surgical hats and stuff that sold really well. I guess greys anatomy really digs them. That cat is an anesthesiologist no longer.
