Happy Birthday GeraldMackerel.com

Today marks one year since the first post on this website. Since then, we have created 88 posts and 467 comments. Perhaps, some things that might not have been shared otherwise.

I can’t help but enjoy how all of you were able to climb on board and make use of this mess called a wordpress website. I am sure we all feel like we could post here more often, but that feeling never goes away.

One great thing about the web is that once you hit the publish button, your message is no longer under your control. Each time a person (or a robot!) visits our little site a new copy is made to be shared. This website will likely exist somewhere much longer than I am able to pay 7$ a year to maintain control over our dot com. About a month ago, I read something about services that can make books out of blog websites.

Bestseller or not, this website is the perfect vehicle for us to share without the distractions of any other place online. I like to think our first year was a great break-in period, and at this point we might be ready for version 1.0. Hell, mom just discovered Fast Company and Felix just got a facebook.

Wow, I think this post was the best one yet. Good writing, Corey. Hey, sorry about the excitement of Fast Company; who knew? I for one have enjoyed all of the posts and pictures you guys have put up. You all have such great humor and wit – I don’t doubt that some day these blogs will be published as a classic.

I have certainly enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone through this site. It is hard to be away from everyone so much, and seeing new posts on GMac always makes my day. 🙂
Now if we could just get dad to make his first post… All in due time I suppose.

dude, gmack is one of the main reasons i bought a laptop in texas..its the site i automatically check after i check my email at the end of the day.
