Nick again
So one day im at the gas station, and this drunk and homeless looking mexican comes up to me, he can hardly speak english, yet alone speak at all, and i can tell hes asking for a ride into New Mexico (which is literally 5 mins away). i tell him im going the other way, and he goes away. Im almost done pumping my gas, and he comes back. i say ok, but he thought i said no again, and goes away. so when i go to leave, i yell vamanos, and wave him over. he grabs his sack of cans, hops in, and puts on his seat belt.. we are driving down the road, and hes muttering shit i cant really understand, plus i cant hear real well since i put both windows down as soon as he got in the truck cause of the smell. all of a sudden he starts reaching around in his pocket, and im like great, here we go, so i reach around to my back pocket for my knife. he fumbles around for another few seconds, then pulls out this little doll, calmly sets it on my dashboard, and says "i love you man". blew my mind. stuff like that happens every day down here, if you let it.

the mexican story is a salzano classic for sure. kinda makes me think we should compile a book of short stories…aaron and dad writing most chapters of course.

Great, every website about climbing Sierra De Cristo Rey warns about the bandits and trouble.
