Out and about

This is college, man.

My roommate isn’t the one who pooped in the toilet. It must have been staff. I went to Dalton’s room and jammed for a bit and we met his girlfriend and her friend and I followed them to Mad Mex, a hookah bar, open mic thing, and then to some strange hipster party where everyone was sitting around listening to lord of the rings and playing with sparklers. Sitting in there, I got this email from www.lightedplace.com saying that I won their summer fiction contest. Woo. Plus, $246 prize money.

Also, I’ve been thinking, a case of ginger ale is only 12 cans.

DWF: Red potatoes to go

IMAG0732

Scott O brought a huge surprise to the Firefly festival a few weeks ago. Joe and I were making fun of him for baking potatoes for a music festival, but we ate them so quickly the joke was on us.

These are red potatoes boiled for 10 minutes or “just before you can get a fork through them.” Then, drain, roll in olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Wrap in foil and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

Let them cool, slice in half, refrigerate, and serve cold out of a cooler. I made them for our trip to Ocean City Maryland this weekend, and I’m sure Joe will let me know how they compare to Scott’s.

Dudes with foods!

Guess who’s buying this copy of the Rolling Stone?  I’m not the only one wondering what the heck happened.
